Customer Title VI Civil Rights Complaint and Grievance Policy

MET Transit is committed to providing services without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, or disability. Comparable paratransit is offered in place of fixed route services to persons who are certified transit disabled.

Notice of Title VI Provisions

Metropolitan Transit Authority (MET Transit) operates its programs and services without regard to race, color and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Any person who believes she or he has been aggrieved by unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with MET Transit (see form at bottom of this page). If you feel you are being denied participation and /or benefits in this program, or otherwise being discriminated against because of your race, color, or national origin, or would like more information on MET Transit’s civil rights program and the procedures to file a complaint you may contact:

A complainant may file a complaint directly with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) by filing a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights.

ADA Complaint and Grievance Policy

   In compliance with the U.S. Department of Transportation Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 (49 CFR Parts 27, 37, 38 and 39), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Black Hawk County (MET Transit) ensures its services, vehicles, and facilities are accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities. Anyone who believes he or she has been discriminated against on the basis of disability may file an ADA complaint by contacting:

Resasonable Modification Requests

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and directives from the Federal Transit Administration, MET Transit will make every effort, to the maximum extent feasible, to ensure that a person with a disability has access to, and benefits from, its services. MET Transit will make reasonable modifications to its policies, programs, and procedures applicable to its transportation services, when necessary to avoid discrimination and ensure accessibility for people with disabilities.
